This dish is a kind of breakfast sandwich filled with eggs, jam, cheese, meat and wrapped in a toasted muffin. The shape is similar to a hamburger bun.
These sandwiches are usually of various types such as bacon, egg, sausage, and cheese sandwiches. The type of bread used to make this sandwich can be with muffins, toast, bagels, biscuits, and hard rolls.
Ingredients :
- Makes 1 Serving
- Unsalted Butter
- 1 English muffin, split
- 1 BA Breakfast Sausage Bread
- 2 slices of American cheese
- 2 large eggs, beaten to mix
- Halal salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Handful of fresh chopped scallions
- Hot sauce and honey (to serve; optional)
Preparation :
- Grease each half of the English muffin generously on both sides. Heat a large skillet or cast iron skillet over medium.
- Bake muffins on skillet, cut side down, lightly pressing until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Flip and bake on the other side, pressing lightly until golden brown on the other side, about 3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook BA Breakfast Sausage patty in skillet until browned on 1 side, about 2 minutes.
- Flip and sprinkle with American cheese; cook until sausage is cooked through and cheese is starting to melt, about 2 minutes. Turn off the fire; keep the muffins and sausages on a warm skillet while you make the eggs.
- Heat a knob of butter in a small nonstick skillet (6" ideal) over medium. Add eggs and season with salt and pepper.
- Using a heat-resistant rubber spatula, cook, lifting the edges and tilting the skillet to let the raw eggs run underneath, until mostly set but still a little runny on top, about 2 minutes.
- Sprinkle with scallions and fold in egg to make half moons; fold in half again.
- To serve, top English muffin bottom with egg, then sausage. Drizzle with hot sauce and honey, if desired. Cover the sandwich and stuff your face, cutlery not recommended.
