Sausage Rolls

Sausage rolls or sausage sandwiches are a culinary heritage of the British colonial government that are very popular with Australian people. You can buy them at bakeries or roadside stalls for breakfast or a snack.
Sausage rolls are Australia's answer to American Pork in a Blanket – but (I'd say it!!) MUCH BETTER!!!

Juicy homemade sausage mix wrapped in puff pastry. I mean really – do you need any more information than that to know it's so delicious?

English people reading this may roll their eyes or get excited, thinking, “Hey!!! WE found Sausage Rolls!”

Okay, that's right. One might say Australia has adopted it as ours. .

These sausage rolls are a tried and tested favorite that we pull regularly for gatherings!
Ingredient :
  • 400 gr chopped sausage
  • 300 gr ground beef
  • 1 red onion, coarsely grated
  • 1 carrot, peeled, coarsely grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 35g (1/2 cup) fresh breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh continental parsley
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 sheets of frozen puff pastry, freshly thawed
  • 1 tsp sea salt flakes
  • Kewpie mayonnaise, to serve
  • Barbecue sauce, to serve
  • Sprigs of fresh cilantro, to serve

4 Method Steps
Step 1: Mix sausage, Element quantity required?
Click on the underlined ingredient to reveal the amount. No need to go back and forth! and minced meat, onion, carrot, garlic, breadcrumbs, parsley and 1 egg in a bowl. Season. Stir until well combined (the mixture will be sticky).
Step 2: Preheat the oven with a forced 200C/180C fan. Line 2 pans with parchment paper. Beat the remaining eggs in a bowl.
Step 3: Cut the cookie sheet in half. Place one-sixth of the chopped mixture along the center of each cake slice. Brush 1 long edge with egg. Fold the cake to cover the filling, press to close it. Cut each roll into thirds. Place sausage rolls, seam side down, on the prepared tray. Brush pastry with egg. Use a small sharp knife to stab the top a few times to let the steam escape. Sprinkle with sea salt. Bake for 35 minutes or until cooked through and golden.
Step 4: Drizzle sausage rolls with mayonnaise and then barbecue sauce. Sprinkle with coriander sprigs to serve.
