Thai Mango Sticky Rice Recipe

Interested in eating mango sticky rice aka Thai mango sticky rice? The way to make it turns out to be similar to the sticky sticky rice we already know. But here durian fruit is replaced with mango.

For those of you who want to try it yourself at home, here we show the simplest recipe to make it.

Ingredients (for 4 servings):

Sticky rice:

  • 250 grams of white glutinous rice
  • 300 ml thick coconut milk
  • 2 glasses of water
  • 200 grams of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pandan leaf

Sauce:

  • 120 ml thick coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon tapioca flour

Complementary:

  • 3 gadung mangoes, golek, or arumanis
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame

How to Make Sticky Rice:

  1. Steam the glutinous rice with water for 15 minutes or until the water in the steamer is reduced.
  2. Combine 300 ml of coconut milk, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Enter the pandan leaves that have been concluded. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Add the rice to the coconut milk mixture and mix well. Leave it for 1/2 hour. Then steam for 20 minutes or until cooked.

How to Make the Sauce:

  1. Mix 120 ml of coconut milk with sugar, salt, and tapioca flour. Bring to a boil, then set aside.

Presentation:

  1. Arrange the sticky rice on a plate. Put the mango chunks on the side, then toss the sticky rice with the sauce. Sprinkle with toasted sesame.
